Verses that Encourage

Romans

Those who don't accept LGBTQ individuals will often quote the "clobber" passages from the Bible - 4 passages from the Old Testament and 3 passages in the New Testament. However, there are over 370 passages in the New Testament that are encouraging to all people, including the LGBTQ community.  How does that compare?  When wondering if those who identify as LGBTQ are loved by God, I encourage you to read and ponder these verses that apply to you and to your LGBTQ friends and family members.

Romans 2:10-11 but glory and honor and peace to every man who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek for there is no partiality with God.

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:1-1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Romans 8:28-30 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren; and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who is against us?

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, of nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Romans 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him.

Romans 10:13 For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:4-5 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

Romans 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy.

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Romans 4:10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.

Romans 14:13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this – not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way.

Romans 14:19 So then let us pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

Romans 15:7 Wherefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
